HGV Academy was started by HGVMETA, who began his own driving career back in 2023 and passed his HGV test in February 2024. He came into the industry with no previous insight into the HGV world and had to figure everything out from scratch.
Along the way he noticed there was a real lack of help for new drivers, and that a lot of people were quitting early on after getting their licence because they had nowhere to turn for honest advice. So he created a Discord community anyone could join, where drivers could help each other get their licence and navigate their day-to-day job - a server with over 1,000 drivers offering real-time help, without any drama or judgement.
HGVMETA has also built HGVJobAlerts to help new drivers find work, and has a large social media following where he continues to put out content and give an honest, healthy insight into the industry.
